The intricate lace designs created by Eastern European artists are actually easy to learn.
In this half day class, you will learn how to make traditional egg white icing and the
gorgeous, shiny egg wash colors. You will practice the basic elements of lace piping and
learn how to combine these elements to create a stunning design.

Needlepoint is a variation of lace design. It's easy to learn and, with a little practice, it
will look perfect.  We will talk about how to use the amazing TruColor natural food
colors on cookies and we will create some gorgeous needlepoint cookies.

As many of you probably don't have an army of cookie decorating supplies at home, I am working on some beautiful projects that we can do with limited supplies. This is my first class offer in this series. Before you sign up, please check the supply list, to make sure you can fully participate.

Registration fee:

$25, online registration required.

I will send you an email with the link to the virtual classroom.

If you can't find my email  in 24 hours, please check your spam folder first, then send me an email.

Supply list:

  • Honey gingerbread cookies, or your favorite roll out cookie recipe. I used a big (4") plaque, rectangle, hexagon cutter and a regular (3") flower and butterfly cutter. If you don't have these shapes, you can work on 3 circle cookies (use a cup as a cutter) and two rectangles (easy to hand cut)
  • Royal icing (1 egg, 7-8 oz confectioner's sugar) We will need piping consistency and flood consistency. We will talk about consistencies during class.
  • Piping bag (or sandwich bag), small round decorating tip (optional)
  • Paint palette (or a tiny cup or a medicine measuring cup)
  • Small paint brush
  • Some toothpicks
  • Paper towel
  • To dry the cookies between steps, the best tool is a dehydrator. If you don't have one, you can use a fan or your oven at the lowest setting.
